The next morning, we were up bright and early to take the ferry to the North Shore. We planned to spend the morning visiting the Taronga Zoo. It’s about a 15 minute ferry ride and was our first ferry ride in the daylight. Here’s some pictures.

The ferry deposits you on the shore at the foot of a hill. You can take a bus, a tram or walk up to the zoo entrance. We took the bus (there was a long line for the tram). The Taronga Zoo is beautiful! There was a lot of construction for new exhibits, but it is still one of the best zoos I’ve ever visited. Pictures!

After taking the ferry back to Circular Quay, we hopped on board the Bondi Explorer bus. Just like the Sydney Explorer, you can get on and off wherever you like. But this bus takes a loop through the city and out to the beaches on the Pacific. Here are some pictures.

We were going to get off and wander at Bondi Beach, but were so tired we decided to go back to the hotel and take a nap before going the the opera that evening. We saw Don Giovanni. The Sydney Opera House is as beautiful inside as it is outside. Perfect acoustics. And we had really good seats in the dress circle. It was a wonderful evening.
